The Heart is a Lonely Hunter from Once Upon a Time

The Heart is a Lonely Hunter is one Once Upon a Time episode that you really can’t afford to miss.

Two major events happened.

These events deserve a spoiler notice so you don’t have the episode ruined for you if you don’t like knowing what happened in an episode before you’ve had a chance to watch it.

Needless to say, The Heart is a Lonely Hunter is a special episode for these two very important and as yet unnamed reasons.

Spoilers below so don’t read on if you don’t want to know what happened in this episode of Once Upon a Time.

Seriously.

This is major spoilage.

Okay, you asked for it.

  1. Graham was revealed as The Huntsman when his memories of his past life came back.
  2. Graham died.

Of course Graham died. As soon as I realized his memories were returning and not likely to disappear because of some convenient something or other, I knew Graham was a goner. I had to convince the kiddies of that before it happened so that they could brace themselves.

I hate that this happened, because I actually really enjoyed the chemistry between him and Emma. But… the dramatic impact of his death was significant and well played. This episode will stand out as one of the truly excellent episodes of the season.

Both my son and daughter are very into this show though, and since it also makes the adult in me happy too, I have to say Once Upon a Time is one of my favorite TV shows to come along in a very long time. It fits into that place in my life occupied by shows like Eureka and Warehouse 13. Young enough to be safe for family viewing, fun enough to actually keep my family watching!

R.I.P. Sheriff. You will be missed.

Once Upon a Time Poster of Prince Charming

Oh, my. I was searching for something today and came across several interesting posters for the Once Upon a Time TV show and of course, this particular poster really caught my eye. I’m sure you can see why.

This poster promotes Once Upon a Time, and plenty of fans of the show will be interested in adding this lovely poster to their Once Upon a Time memorabilia collection, or using it to start one.

This is a fabric wall scroll poster so it’s something a little extra special. There are actually several variations, and you can buy a complete set if you find yourself or a family member/friend really getting into the show.

There are other posters for the show. The color variations are really cool and the set as a whole is just gorgeous.

My daughter will adore these, and they’ll make great room decorations. There are also additional sizes and variteties of the Once Upon a Time wall scroll posters, and you can see what’s available by clicking the link.

This TV show is without a doubt one of my new favorites. Although I’m enjoying several other new series, Once Upon a Time is the best new show of the entire season this year. Here’s hoping there are many more episodes of this fascinating fantasy series to come.

Once Upon a Time Enchants

I’m nearly always a day or two behind when it comes to watching a TV show. Today I sat down to watch Once Upon a Time, a new show from ABC that crosses contemporary drama and fairytale fantasy. Once Upon a Time's Rumpelstiltskin aka Mr. Gold The show appealed to me for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is because I love fairytales.

In the pilot episode (which you can watch on the ABC website if you missed it), Emma Swan meets the son she gave up for adoption ten years previous. These days, Emma is a bail bondswoman and her desire to become a parent is non-existent. However, Henry, her son, seems determined to bring her back to his hometown of Storybrooke, where he believes Snow White and Prince Charming have been trapped with no recollection of who they really are. Emma is their daughter and it is up to her to save everyone in Storybrooke from the Evil Queen, who is now living as the town’s mayor Regina and who is the adopted mother of Henry.

What I discovered while watching the Once Upon a Time Pilot Episode was that I loved the premise. I also think the execution of the two elements (Storybrooke and Fairytale) was handled really well and made for some excellent story telling.

Intriguing and mysterious, but not obscure, Once Upon a Time enchanted this viewer. I’ll be watching again, no doubt about it.

Anyone who likes fantasy should consider the Once Upon a Time TV show for, at the very least, a one-time viewing. If you’re anything like me though, one viewing won’t be enough.

In a quick aside, I really enjoyed seeing Robert Carlyle in another TV series now that Stargate Universe is off the air. Although that show had its issues, Carlyle’s performance wasn’t one of them. His portrayal of Rumpelstiltskin was awesome.

I suggest you watch, if only so that the ratings warrant keeping the show on the air just so I can keep watching it. I’d be every so grateful.
