No Ordinary Family Coming this Fall to ABC

no-ordinary-family On Tuesdays this fall, I’ll be ready at 7 PM Central for the new show from ABC, No Ordinary Family. From the trailer I just watched to the summary of the show on the ABC website, I am intrigued and excited by the premise. The actors look like a great bunch also. This is a show I’ll definitely have to try out this fall. Will you be watching?

No Ordinary Family trailer:

No Ordinary Family summary:

The Powells are about to go from ordinary to extraordinary.

After 16 years of marriage, Jim and Stephanie’s relationship lacks the spark it once had, and their family life now consists of balancing work and their two children, leaving little time for family bonding.

During a family vacation set up by Jim in an attempt to reconnect, their plane crashes into the Amazon River. But this is where the fun starts for the Powells, as they soon discover that something’s not quite right. Each of them now possesses unique and distinct superpowers.

But saving and savoring their family life will be equally important, as they try to find purpose for their new powers and embark on a journey to find out what defines and unifies them.

The Powells are a totally relatable family who happen to be a little bit amazing.

No Ordinary Family stars:

  • Michael Chiklis as Jim Powell
  • Julie Benz as Stephanie Powell
  • Jimmy Bennett as JJ Powell
  • Kay Panabaker as Daphne Powell
  • Romany Malco as George St. Cloud
  • Autumn Reeser as Katie Andrews
  • Christina Chang as Det. Yvonne Cho
  • Tate Donovan as Mitch McCutcheon

No Ordinary Family writers and producers:

The pilot was written and executive-produced by Jon Feldman. The series is executive-produced by Feldman, Greg Berlanti, Morgan Wandell and David Semel, who also directed the pilot. Joe Hartwick, Jr. serves as producer. No Ordinary Family is from ABC Studios.

Sanctuary’s Next Tuesday (with and without commentary) is online at Syfy Rewind

Right now, there are several of the Sanctuary season two episodes available to watch online at Syfy Rewind.

As of this post, you can catch last week’s Sanctuary episode Next Tuesday, along with an enhanced version of the episode which includes commentary. The show is a good one, in my opinion, and well worth watching more than once. There’s one particular touching moment that I appreciated, and it’s nice to see a series truly mourn a missing character.

The commentary-laden episode is worth the commercial interruptions. Besides, that’s the only way you’ll get to see it for now. Season two DVDs will come later, I’m sure. :)

Dollhouse Season 1 There’s a good deal going on at FOX Shop this weekend. They’re offering free shipping. That would be great if you haven’t gotten yourself or a friend a copy of any of the DVD sets for Dollhouse, Buffy, Angel, or any other sets they might be interested in watching.

Here’s the link: Get Free Shipping on all orders with code FREESHIP from 12/4 – 12/6

Not that the show fits, but the Glee music is on there too, and I have to admit I’ve become a fan. :)

Dollhouse is done for and I don’t care

Watch Dollhouse episodes

This is probably a surprise, since I run the Dollhouse Fantasies Dollhouse fan site with a friend of mine. But the problem is, we’ve both been feeling the lack of love for this show for a while now.

Although I really enjoyed the new episodes of this season, they’re still not compelling me to feel sad about the demise of Dollhouse. The truth is, I’m sad that the show was never that good, but I’m not sad that the show I’ve been watching is going to be gone.

Although Renee and I won’t be taking that site down (yet), we aren’t actively updating the blog. Unfortunately, I think the show never quite had what it needed to be a really great TV show.

I was interested in how the season was going to unfold, but this is one of those instances where with the cancellation of the show, I won’t be bothering to watch future episodes. Dollhouse is done for. And I don’t care.

Do you?

Chuck Nominated for an Emmy!

What a lovely surprise I discovered today when I was looking over yesterday’s news. I ended up on the Emmy Awards website (Emmys.com) and started typing in the names of my favorite shows in their search box (because they don’t have an easy to read list of Nominees—it’s a dropdown menu mess, but I digress).

If you read much of this blog, you know I’m a huge Chuck fan. I found Chuck in the nominees list in the Outstanding Stunt Coordination category.

Outstanding Stunt Coordination

  • Tom Elliott, Stunt Coordinator » Criminal Minds
  • Merritt Yohnka, Stunt Coordinator » Chuck (Episode: Chuck Versus The First Date)
  • Artie Malesci, Stunt Coordinator » Burn Notice
  • Al Jones, Stunt Coordinator » My Name Is Earl
  • Jeff Cadiente, Stunt Coordinator » 24

Fifth Season of Doctor Who in 2010

Okay, okay, so maybe they’ve got another season in the works after all. Reports are showing up everywhere now that say that Doctor Who will return in 2010 with a full fifth season. News reports that Russell T. Davies will be replaced as head writer and executive producer this time by Steven Moffat.

Now we’ll have to see if David Tennant (who has played the main character of the show for the past three seasons) will return. I didn’t really like him much that first part of the first season he was in, but I can’t imagine anyone else playing the Doctor now. I sure hope he decides to do it!

Doctor Who 2009 Specials?

It would seem there are a lot of rumors and “news” reports that Doctor Who, while it won’t have a full season in 2009, will return with four television specials. It’s reported that these are one hour specials, one of which will be shown around Easter 2009, and another one Christmas Day. Russell T. Davies was supposed to have written two of the 2009 specials, along with having co-written the others. Other writers include Gareth Roberts and Phil Ford.

Maybe, just maybe they’ll give us little teasers for whether or not the series will return in 2010…

Stargate Atlantis premieres tonight

Technically, Stargate Atlantis already premiered, but my DVR is still chugging away as it records the program for me. I am headed to the tv to watch the season 5 premiere episode Search and Rescue (really looking forward to it) as soon as I finish up a few things I wanted to do tonight.

One of those things was adding the Stargate: Continuum info to the site. I’ve done that and you can catch it under the science fiction & fantasy shows.

Of course, I’ll have to share my thoughts on SGA later, but that’ll have to be tomorrow! I feel as giddy as a schoolgirl. I’m certainly ready to watch some tv tonight! It’s been a long day.
